Angie and Marilee wanted to express their passion and expectations for bringing quilters together in a dedicated space by giving their retreat partnership a reflective name. What better than ”serendipity” which refers to finding joy when you aren’t expecting it. They find the most wonderful surprises and friendships at their retreats. We know you will too.
Angie and Marilee met in a serendipitous way when Marilee offered to help with Angie’s quilting business software. From there they not only found friendship but also common passions for creating retreat experiences for quilters and crafters. They offer organized retreats for individuals or groups by securing exceptional venues and providing meals and clean up so you can Relax, Create and Accomplish!
The venue allows for plenty of space for qullters as well as those who focus on other crafts. Many times quilters bring handwork like crochet or crossstitch to work on as well. If you are a scrapbooker, knitter, or slow stitcher, you will find you fit in perfectly or you may want to bring your group to focus on your craft.
Shared rooms are spacious and have beds for 2, 3 or 4 retreaters. Bedding and towels are provided. Each room has its own full bathroom. If you have special requests, just ask and we will work with you.
Angie and Marilee have personal experience with food allergies. Please let us know your restrictions. If you have other food related questions, send us an email. Specific non-medical food preferences can be accomodated by bringing your own foods or may incur an additional fee.
You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks for yourself and/or to share. It‘s always prefered when working around fabric and crafts to have a covered drink container to avoid spills. We always have chocolate as it is absolutely essential!
According to Angie and Marilee’s personal and professional experiences and broader research, the most requested attributes of a great crafter’s retreat are an ergonomic, well-lit sewing space with ample electrical access, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a supportive social environment free from daily distractions. Place of Grace is a one level, handicap accessible retreat venue with woodlike flooring for easy cleanup. Each crafter has an 8 foot table with a dedicated electrical circuit and plenty of design walls throughout the sewing/crafting studio. Shared rooms have comfortable beds and supplied bedding as well as their own bathrooms. A full kitchen and eating area top off the space. Near a small town but surrounded by trees and farmland, this venue is quiet and private.
In order to secure the venue we must give the owner 60 days notice of our attendance.
